Branch of Service: U.S. Navy
Bio: Raymond was born in Phoenix, Arizona, in 1978. He grew up around ranching and rodeo all over the Southwest. Raymond was active in Boy Scouts from eight years of age until high school. Raymond knew early on that he wanted to join the Navy and did so in 1997. His first duty station was the 1st Marine Division at Camp Pendleton, California. Raymond would go on to be stationed with Marine Corps units for 16 years, deploying all over the world.
After leaving active duty service to seek a family life, Raymond became a police officer and had his first son. Missing the brotherhood of the military, he enlisted once again and serves in the Navy Reserves.
Through this expedition, Raymond is hoping to move past the rut and depression of feeling alone. He misses being part of a team and is looking forward to the positive stress of the expedition and personal growth.
